Automatic Hold

Note: When using an automatic car wash, make sure to switch auto hold off, or shift to neutral (N) with the brake pedal applied to ensure auto hold is not active.

The Auto Hold is designed to maintain the vehicle in a standstill even though the brake pedal is not pressed after the driver brings the vehicle to a complete stop by pressing the brake pedal .

On the Odyssey, the electric parking brake is easy to use: push to set and lift to release. And when turned on, automatic brake hold keeps the brakes engaged at a stoplight , so that you don’t have to keep your foot on the pedal. It remains engaged until you accelerate.

The default for auto-hold ( the feature that holds the brake for you ) is off. But in my wife's car it's always on. I much prefer it on always than turning it on each time the car starts.
